VILLAGE OF NAPOLEONVILLE SPEED ENFORCEMENT SUSPENDED
NAPOLEONVILLE – Earlier this morning, the Napoleonville Village Council held a special meeting to discuss matters related to the Automotive Photo Speed Enforcement Program due to concerns raised since its inception. The Council went into executive session to discuss this matter. The Council then ended the executive session, and the council presented a resolution to suspend that part of the ordinance as it relates to the speed enforcement which effectively terminated the entire program.
I applaud the Mayor and Council’s actions in recognizing that the program is not in anyone or any agency’s best interests.
As Sheriff, I have and will continue to provide professional law enforcement services to the residents of Assumption Parish and the Village of Napoleonville. The Mayor and Council requested that my office provide traffic enforcement whenever and wherever needed in the Village, which we have and will continue to do so.
I appreciate the efforts of the Council and the Mayor, and we will work together to create a better and safer Napoleonville.
