TRAFFIC STOP – MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES – FAILURE TO APPEAR – JEREMIE K. PAUL, LAJOYA TASHERIA HEARVEY – I.C.E. ARREST
BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Jeremie K. Paul, 34, of 166 Ideal Street, Paincourtville, LA, and Lajoya Tasheria Hearvey, 32, of 166 Ideal Street, Paincourtville, LA, on multiple felony charges arising from a traffic stop late Friday night on LA 1 near Belle Rose.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and conducted a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Jermie K. Paul, and initiated an officer / violator interview. The subject exited his vehicle and began emptying a container of suspected narcotics. The deputy noted a pungent odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Jeremie K. Paul was arrested.
The deputy made contact with the passenger, now identified as Lajoya Tasheria Hearvey and conducted an officer / violator interview.
At the conclusion of that interview, deputies determined that additional investigation was warranted.
As a result of the stop and ensuing investigation, quantities of suspected marijuana, schedule IV drugs, and assorted drug paraphernalia were seized.
Jeremie K. Paul was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Schedule IV Drugs
*Obstruction of Justice
*Obstruction to Driver’s View or Mechanism
*Speeding – 53 mph / 30 mph Zone
Jeremie K. Paul remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
Lajoya Tasheria Hearvey was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Schedule IV Drugs
*Possession of Marijuana
*Obstruction of Justice
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Lajoya Tasheria Hearvey remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
