TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – I.C.E. ARREST – CHRISTOPHER J. ADAMS
BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Christopher J. Adams, 47, of 2602 Lake Palourde Road, Morgan City, LA, on multiple felony drug law violations arising from a Wednesday afternoon stop near Bayou L’Ourse.
An I.C.E. assigned deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Christopher J. Adams and proceeded to interview him. The investigating officer noted behavior consistent with illegal drug activity and concluded that additional investigation was warranted.
The deputy requested consent to search the vehicle which was granted. During that search, quantities of meth-amphetamine, Xanax (Alprazolam), marijuana and drug paraphernalia was seized.
The deputy also conducted a protective pat down sweep of the passenger which yielded a quantity of suspected marijuana. The passenger, now identified as Atanacio Guerrero III, 38, of 279 Vivian Street, Bayou L’Ourse, LA, was issued a misdemeanor summons for Possession of Marijuana and released.
Christopher J. Adams was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Meth-Amphetamine
*Possession of Xanax (Alprazolam)
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Speeding
Christopher J. Adams remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
