TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – FUGITIVE WARRANT – DEVEN PATTON COX
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Deven Patton Cox, 28, of 102 Sycamore Street, Labadieville, LA, on charges arising from a traffic incident in Labadieville on Tuesday afternoon.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a motor vehicle with a licensing violation on Pine Street and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver who identified himself as Deven Patton Cox. It was determined that Cox was driving on a suspended license. The suspect was detained.
It was revealed that Deven Patton Cox was wanted by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office on a fugitive warrant. During the arrest process, a quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was seized from Deven Patton Cox.
As a result, Cox was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Owner to Secure Registration
*Fugitive Warrant – Lafourche Parish
Deven Patton Cox remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
