TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

PAINCOURTVILLE– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Chad Jerome Butler, 43, of 400 Adam Hall Street, Napoleonville, LA, on felony drug charges arising out of a Wednesday evening traffic stop near Paincourtville, LA.
A uniformed patrol deputy / K-9 unit observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on LA 308 and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Chad Jerome Butler. The investigating deputy noted that Butler did not have a driver’s license. Additionally, the deputy observed actions consistent with illegal drug activity.
The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the violator’s vehicle.
During that process, the deputy seized quantities of MDMA.
Chad Jerome Butler was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of MDMA (Ecstasy)
*Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in Motor Vehicles
*Driver Must be Licensed
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Second or Subsequent Offense of a Drug Law Violation
Chad Jerome Butler remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
