TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

PIERRE PART– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jeremy Paul Jordan, 42, of 2929 8th Street, Orlando, Florida, on felony drug charges following a traffic stop in Pierre Part on Thursday morning.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on LA 70 in the vicinity of Derrick Street. The deputy initiated a stop of the violator vehicle and made contact with the driver, now identified as Jeremy Paul Jordan. The deputy noted the driver as non-compliant and at some point, detained Jordan and conducted a pat down search of his outer clothing for purposes of officer / violator safety.
The deputy noted paraphernalia present in the vehicle, therefore requesting the presence of a K-9 unit. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of controlled dangerous substances. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in a quantity of marijuana and assorted paraphernalia being seized.
Jeremy Paul Jordan was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Prohibited Acts Schedule I – To Wit: Marijuana
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Speeding – 69 / 55 MPH
Jeremy Paul Jordan remains incarcerated with bond set at $10,000.
A passenger in Jordan’s vehicle, Fonda Leeann Cooper was cited for Possession of Marijuana and released.
