TRAFFIC STOP / DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – AUTUMN A. PICOU
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Autumn A. Picou, 37, of 216 Rue Tete Rouge, Bourg, LA, on felony charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 308 near Napoleonville, LA, Friday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy was advised by an off-duty deputy of a vehicle driving erratically southbound on LA 308 committing multiple traffic violations. The deputy located the vehicle and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Autumn A. Picou. The deputy initiated an officer / violator interview. The deputy noted that Picou was defensive and displayed hostility over the purpose of the stop. At the conclusion of that interview, the deputy felt that additional investigation was warranted.
The deputy summoned a K-9 to the location. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle and alerted positive to the presence of illegally controlled dangerous substances. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of Suboxone, Heroin, Fentanyl, assorted drug paraphernalia and U.S. currency.
Autumn A. Picou was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Suboxone
*Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Transaction Involving Proceeds from Controlled Dangerous Substance Activity
*Improper Lane Usage
Autumn A. Picou was released on an $80,000 commercial bond.
