TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
ALTON WILLIAMS, JR., LORIS WIGGINS, JOSH JERMAIN HENRY
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Alton Williams, Jr., 62, of 305C Jefferson Street, Napoleonville, LA, Loris Wiggins, 53, of 706 Franklin Street, Napoleonville, LA and the issuance of arrest warrants for Josh Jermain Henry, 42, of 131A Marshall Lane, Napoleonville, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop in Napoleonville on Thursday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. program observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Josh Jermain Henry, and conducted an officer / violator interview. The deputy noted a strong odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. At the conclusion of the interview, the deputy felt that additional investigation was warranted.
The deputy made contact with two passengers whom exhibited signs of being engaged in illegal activity. As the deputy was interviewing Alton Williams, Jr. and Loris Wiggins, the driver (Josh Jermain Henry), fled on foot. Both Alton Williams, Jr. and Loris Wiggins were subsequently released.
The deputy conducted an inventory search of the suspect vehicle and during that process, seized significant quantities of marijuana, crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Upon discovery of the illegal drugs, deputies relocated Alton Williams, Jr. and Loris Wiggins and arrested both of them.
Alton Williams, Jr. was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
* Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Alton Williams, Jr remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
Loris Wiggins was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
* Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Loris Wiggins remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
Felony warrants have been issued for the arrest of Josh Jermain Henry.
