TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – TYRELL DMARCUS SIMON
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Tyrell Dmarcus Simon, 18, of 3023 Mount Olive, Donaldsonville, LA, on felony charges arising out of a traffic stop in Napoleonville, LA on Wednesday afternoon.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Tyrell Dmarcus Simon and conducted an officer / violator interview. The deputy determined that additional investigation was warranted and requested consent to search the vehicle which was granted.
During the search process, a large caliber handgun and a quantity of suspected marijuana were seized.
Tyrell Dmarcus Simon was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
*Illegal Carrying of a Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*No Seat Belt
Tyrell Dmarcus Simon remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
