TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Heath Michael Latiolais, 31, of 510 Bayard Street, New Iberia, LA, on felony charges arising out of a Saturday traffic stop on LA 398 west of Labadieville, LA.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed the vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle.

The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Heath Michael Latiolais. The deputy interviewed Latiolais and at some point, concluded that additional investigation was warranted. The deputy obtained consent to search the vehicle and as a result of that process, a quantity of MDMA (Ecstasy) and suspected marijuana were seized.

Heath Michael Latiolais was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Speeding
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession with Intent to Distribute MDMA (Ecstasy)

Heath Michael Latiolais remains incarcerated with bond set at $10,000.
