TRAFFIC STOP, DRUG LAW VIOLATION, FUGITIVE WARRANT
JANSEN DANTE PARFAIT
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jansen Dante Parfait, 25, of 267 Grande St., Houma, LA on multiple charges following a traffic stop on LA 308 near Napoleonville early Friday.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle on LA 308 with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Jansen Dante Parfait and engaged the driver into an officer/violator interview.
Jansen Dante Parfait did not have a driver’s license in his possession. At some point, the deputy determined that Jansen Dante Parfait was wanted on a fugitive warrant from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Jansen Dante Parfait was arrested. During that process, Parfait was found to be in the possession of a quantity of heroin on his person.
The deputy requested the presence of a K-9 unit at the scene. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle and alerted positive for the presence of controlled dangerous substances. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of heroin.
Jansen Dante Parfait was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
• Possession of Heroin
• Proper Equipment Required on Vehicles
• Fugitive Warrant – Terrebonne Parish – Theft of a Motor Vehicle
Jansen Dante Parfait remains incarcerated with bond set at $50,000.
