TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATION

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Varice Kevin Richardson, 26, of 161 Friendship Alley, Morgan City, LA, following a traffic stop late Tuesday night.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle on LA 662 commit a traffic violation and conducted a stop of the violator.

The deputy interviewed the driver, then proceeded to interview a front seat passenger who appeared to be moving around inside the vehicle.

The deputy noted that the passenger now identified as Varice Kevin Richardson, was exhibiting signs consistent with illegal drug activity.

The deputy also noted that the suspect emptied his pockets and was found to be in possession of marijuana, meth-amphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Varice Kevin Richardson was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Meth-Amphetamine
*Possession of Marijuana (Third Offense)
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Varice Kevin Richardson was incarcerated with a bond set at $30,000.
