TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATION

PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Aaron Joseph Babin, 22, of 301 David Drive, Thibodaux, LA, on traffic and drug law violations Sunday afternoon.

Deputies were dispatched to investigate a vehicle driving in a careless manner eastbound on LA 70.

A uniformed patrol officer intercepted the suspect vehicle near LA 1 and LA 70 Spur and proceeded to stop the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Aaron Joseph Babin.

Upon interviewing Babin, the deputy noted that Babin was unable to coordinate and perform certain instructions, appeared to be very sluggish and was not very forth coming. Upon request, Babin granted consent to deputies to search the suspect vehicle.

During that process, a quantity of Xanax (Alprazolam) was seized.

Aaron Joseph Babin was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Xanax (Alprazolam)
*Illegal Window Tint

Aaron Joseph Babin was released on a $5,000 bond.
