TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW / GUN VIOLATIONS
TRAVIS JOSPEH SKEEN, CHRISTOPHER DWAINE WOODS and
ASHLEY LANCLOS
BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Travis Joseph Skeen, 30, of 606 Aristle Road, Bayou L’Ourse, LA, Christopher Dwaine Woods, 20, of 103 11th Street, Morgan City, LA and Ashley N. Lanclos 28, of 172 Andras Street, Bayou L’Ourse, LA, on felony charges following a Saturday afternoon traffic stop in Bayou L’Ourse.
An I.C.E. unit assigned deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on LA 182 and initiated a stop of the suspect pick-up truck. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Travis Joseph Skeen. The deputy interviewed Skeen, who was noted to be acting nervously. The patrol officer also noted a very noticeable odor of suspected raw marijuana.
The deputy proceeded to interview the two remaining occupants of the vehicle identified as Christopher Dwaine Woods and Ashley Lanclos.
As the investigation progressed, probable cause was developed to search the vehicle.
During the process of conducting the search, a handgun was recovered. Drug paraphernalia and a large bag of suspected marijuana was also seized. Based upon the deputy’s observations and the finality of the investigation, the three suspects were arrested and charged as follows:
*Travis Joseph Skeen –
*Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
*Illegal Carrying of a Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous
Substances
*Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number
*Driving Under Suspension
*Operable Mirrors Required
Travis Skeen’s bond was set at $26,000.
Christopher Dwaine Woods was booked on charges of:
*Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
Woods bond was set at $10,000.
Ashley N. Lanclos was booked on charges of:
*Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*No Seat Belt
Lanclos bond was set at $12,000.
