TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG / GUN LAW VIOLATIONS – I.C.E. ARREST

BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Alarious Davon Oliney, 28, of 3340 Wyoming Street, Baton Rouge, LA, on felony drug law violations arising from a traffic stop on LA 70 near Belle River Saturday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle on LA 70 with equipment violations and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Alarious Davon Oliney and engaged Oliney in an officer / violator interview. During the interview process, the deputy conducted a criminal history check and determined that Oliney was a prior convicted felon. Oliney did not have a drivers license. At some point, Oliney acknowledged the presence of a handgun in the vehicle. At the conclusion of the interview, the deputy requested the presence of a K-9 at the location. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle and alerted positive to the presence of controlled dangerous substances. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of two large caliber handguns and multiple doses of hydrocodone.
Alarious Davon Oliney was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (2 Counts)
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
(2 Counts)
*Possession of Hydrocodone
*Driver Must be Licensed
*Illegal Window Tint
*Obstruction to Driver’s View or Driving Mechanism
Alarious Davon Oliney remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
