TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG – GUN LAW VIOLATIONS – DRASHON DYONTAE LOCKET, TRISTAN LETERRIC BERNARD and
ALARIC PAUL JONES
BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Drashon Dyontae Locket, 22, of 3360 Alice Street, Apartment 1117, Houston, Texas, on felony charges arising from a traffic stop on U.S. 90 near Bayou L’Ourse on Thursday afternoon.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Drashon Dyontae Locket and engaged in an officer / violator interview. The deputy then made contact with two passengers, now identified as Tristan Leterric Bernard, 34, of 1019 West End Drive, New Iberia, LA and Alaric Paul Jones, 37, of 1015 Mississippi Street, New Iberia, LA and conducted interviews with both.
The deputy noted a pungent odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. At the conclusion of all field interviews, the deputy concluded that additional investigation was warranted.
The deputy summoned a K-9 to the location. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle and alerted positive for the presence of illegal narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a large caliber handgun.
All three suspects were arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Illegal Window Tint

*Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
As to Alaric Paul Jones:
*Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Drashon Dyontae Locket, Tristan Leterric Bernard and Alaric Paul Jones remain incarcerated pending bond hearings.
