TRAFFIC INCIDENT – UNAUTORIZED USE
JAKEICE RAYMOND GILTON

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jakeice Raymond Gilton, 20, of 131 Lot G. Cancienne Road, Napoleonville, LA, on felony charges arising from a traffic incident on Daggs Street north of Paincourtville late Thursday evening.

Deputies were dispatched to the Daggs Street area in reference to an automobile crash. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the involved parties. Deputies determined that the owner of an automobile was operating his vehicle on Daggs Street in a westerly direction and for some reason stopped and exited the vehicle. A passenger now identified as Jakeice Raymond Gilton assumed control of the vehicle and drove off. Gilton then turned around and headed east. At some point, Jakeice Raymond Gilton lost control of the vehicle causing him to strike a parked vehicle causing that vehicle to strike a residence.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Jakeice Raymond Gilton was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Unauthorized Use of a Moveable
*Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle

Jakeice Raymond Gilton remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
