TRAFFIC INCIDENT – DRUG LAW VIOLATION – STEVEN B. HARRIS
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Steven B. Harris, 32, of 612 Locust Street, Thibodaux, LA, on felony charges arising out of a traffic stop early Wednesday morning on LA 308 north of Napoleonville.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver and initiated an officer / violator interview. At some point during that process, the deputy determined that the suspect driver had supplied false information relative to his identity. The suspect was now identified as Steven B. Harris. The deputy identified numerous inconsistencies which warranted additional investigation.
The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the suspect vehicle. During the search, a quantity of the drug Clonazepam was seized.
Steven B. Harris was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Clonazepam
*Second or Subsequent Drug Law Violation
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Resisting an Officer
*Speeding
*Fugitive – St. Mary Parish
*Fugitive – Morgan City Police Department
Steven B. Harris remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
