TRAFFIC INCIDENT – DRUG / GUN LAW VIOLATIONS

BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Raylon Deiontre Hill, 22, of 140 Roma Drive, Breaux Bridge, LA, on felony drug and gun law violations arising from a traffic stop early Saturday morning on U.S. 90 near Bayou L’Ourse.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver and engaged the subject into an officer / violator interview. Upon completion of that interview, the deputy concluded that additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle.
During the search process, deputies recovered a large caliber firearm and a quantity of suspected marijuana. Raylon Deiontre Hill was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Illegal Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Prohibited Acts, Schedule I Drugs – Marijuana – Over 14 grams
*Failure to Drive on Right Side of Roadway
Raylon Deiontre Hill posted a $15,000 commercial bond.
