TRAFFIC INCIDENT – D.W.I. – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Shawn M. Griffin, 32, of 2530 Stassi Road, Plaquemine, LA, on multiple traffic and drug law violations arising from a reckless driver complaint on LA 69 near Belle Rose early Tuesday.

Deputies responded to the complaint and drove upon the suspect vehicle which was in a ditch. Deputies made contact with the driver, now identified as Shawn M. Griffin. Deputies conducted a protective pat down search of Griffin’s person and did seize drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.

Louisiana State Police took Shwan M. Griffin to a medical facility to have blood drawn relative to Griffin being intoxicated or under the influence of a controlled substance.

Shawn M. Griffin was booked on charges as follows:

-Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Louisiana State Police handled the traffic portion of this incident.

Shawn M. Griffin remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
