TRAFFIC INCIDENT – AGGRAVATED FLIGHT

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Lance Joseph Gaspard, 20, of 118 Sycamore Street, Labadieville, LA, on multiple charges arising from a traffic incident on LA 1 near Labadieville on Monday.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a motorcycle traveling southbound on LA 1 with the operator standing on the bike with his arms extended. The deputy attempted to stop the motorcycle, but the driver engaged the deputy in a pursuit which exceeded speeds of 105 miles per hour and into Lafourche Parish. With the deputy in close pursuit, the suspect pulled over and surrendered. The driver, now identified as Lance Joseph Gaspard was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Speeding
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle

Lance Joseph Gaspard remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
