TRAFFIC / DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Chad Anthony Delcambre, 40, of 1820 North Hidalgo Lane, Thibodaux, LA, arising out of a Friday morning traffic stop near Labadieville.

A uniformed patrol officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. The deputy initiated a stop of the vehicle. Upon doing so, the deputy identified the violator as Chad Anthony Delcambre.

During the interview process, the deputy noted behavior consistent with illegal drug activity. The deputy summoned a K-9 unit to the scene. The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff and alerted to particular areas of the vehicle, suspect of illegal drug activity.

The vehicle was searched and quantities of marijuana, meth-amphetamine and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Chad Anthony Delcambre was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Facility on charges of:

*Driving Under Suspension
*Driving Without Head Lamps
*Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection Tag
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession of Meth-Amphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Chad Anthony Delcambre remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
