TRAFFIC – DRUG LAW VIOLATION – JOELLE ASHLEY CUNNINGHAM
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Joelle Ashley Cunningham, 38, of 4243 Florida Blvd, Room 1024, Baton Rouge, LA from a complaint of a reckless driver.
A patrol deputy was summoned to LA 308 in the area of Assumption High School, due to a speeding and reckless vehicle. The vehicle had already left the area but was stopped by another deputy a short distance away.
The deputies made contact with the driver, now identified as Joelle Ashley Cunningham. During the deputy / driver interview, Joelle Ashley Cunningham denied consent to search the vehicle. A K-9 was already present at the scene and upon doing an open-air sniff of the vehicle, did alert to the presence of illegal narcotics.
Joelle Ashley Cunningham was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Driver Must be Licensed
*Failure to Drive on Right Side of Road
*Possession of Methamphetamine (Felony)
*Possession or Distribution of Drug Paraphernalia
Joelle Ashley Cunningham remains incarcerated awaiting a bond hearing.
