TAKING CONTRABAND TO / FROM A PENAL INSTITUTION

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Nicole Renee Nicholas, 32, of 800 Riverview Complex, Donaldsonville, LA, on felony charges related to her duties at the Assumption Parish Detention Facility while being employed by an outside vendor.
Nicole Renee Nicholas was employed by a food services company working in the inmate meal preparation section.
The Sheriff’s Office Warden who oversees the day-to-day operations of the detention facility developed information that an individual employed by the private food services section had brought synthetic marijuana into the facility and provided it to an inmate.
The narcotics division initiated an investigation and further determined that the food service company employee had possibly engaged in sexual contact with an inmate.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the employee, now identified as Nicole Renee Nicholas was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Introducing Contraband to / from a Penal Institution
*Malfeasance in Office – Sexual Conduct with a Person in a Penal Institution
Nicole Renee Nicholas remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
The private inmate services company immediately terminated the employment of Nicole Renee Nicholas.
