SHOOTING – KOREY JACOBI DAVIS

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Korey Jacobi Davis, 23, of 1200 Louise Street, Thibodaux, LA, on multiple counts of attempted first-degree murder arising from a June 11, 2023, incident at a local retail establishment north of Labadieville, LA.

On the aforementioned date, deputies responded to the business in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies determined that a fight occurred on the premises and following the physical confrontation, an individual fired into the crowd of patrons resulting in multiple persons being struck.

Deputies secured the area and detectives initiated an investigation. Detectives determined that Korey Jacobi Davis was involved in an altercation and shortly afterwards, Davis ran towards the second individual who was involved in the fight. Korey Jacobi Davis produced a firearm and began shooting into the crowd. As a result of the shooting, seven (7) people sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at area healthcare facilities.

At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives secured arrest warrants for Korey Jacobi Davis.

Korey Jacobi Davis was arrested in Terrebonne Parish on July 28, 2023. Davis was transported and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Attempted First Degree Murder – 7 Counts
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons
*Possession of a Firearm on Premises of an Alcoholic Beverage Outlet
*Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities

Korey Jacobi Davis remains incarcerated and ordered held without bond pending a court hearing.
