HIGH SPEED PURSUIT – AGGRAVATED FLIGHT

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jamor R. Jones, 35, of 120 Jones Street, Napoleonville, LA, on charges resulting from a high-speed pursuit on Monday afternoon.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a southbound pick-up truck commit a traffic violation and initiated an attempt to stop the vehicle.
The driver attempted to elude the deputy and engage in a high-speed pursuit. The initiating officer along with other Sheriff’s Office units maintained visual contact with the suspect vehicle and eventually ended the pursuit near Bertrandville.
The driver, now identified as Jamor R. Jones, was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Speeding
*Driving Under Suspension
*Improper Passing
*Disregarded Stop Sign
*Failure to Yield
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Turning Movements and Signals Required
*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
A search warrant was secured for the vehicle and as a result of that search, Jones is expected to face additional charges.
Jamor R. Jones was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
