GUN LAW VIOLATIONS – CLIFTON D. DUNHAM
BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Clifton D. Dunham, 47, of 101 Belle Alliance Road, Donaldsonville, LA, on felony gun law violations arising from a disturbance complaint at a residence in the 100 block of Belle Alliance Road late Thursday night.
Deputies responded to the complaint and made contact with the accused Clifton D. Dunham a short distance from his residence. Deputies spoke to Dunham briefly. Deputies then proceeded towards the residence where contact was made with Dunham’s domestic partner. Deputies arrived at the residence and interviewed two juveniles.
After interviewing all of the relevant parties, deputies concluded that an argument had occurred between Dunham and his partner at which time Clifton D. Dunham had discharged a firearm outside of the residence. After a search of the area, deputies did locate a firearm near a ditch. Clifton D. Dunham acknowledged that he had indeed fired a gun. Dunham is a prior convicted felon and cannot lawfully possess a firearm.
Clifton D. Dunham was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Illegal Use of a Weapon or Dangerous Instrumentalities
Clifton D. Dunham remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
