GOVERNOR’S PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY PROCLAMATION

GOVERNOR’S PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY PROCLAMATION

COVID – 19 ENFORCEMENT

NAPOLEONVILLE – Pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order Proclamation Number JBE2020, and effective March 13, 2020 through April 13, 2020, there were numerous measures enacted into law which deal with public gatherings, businesses, etc.

Section 1 provides that all public events, private gatherings, shall not exceed 50 people in a single space at the same time where individuals will be in close proximity to one another.

The exclusions apply only to airports, medical facilities, shopping centers, office buildings, factories, manufacturing facilities, grocery and department stores.

Furthermore, all casinos, video poker establishments, movie theaters, bars, bowling alleys, fitness centers, gyms, statewide, were ordered to close effective immediately.

All restaurants, cafes and coffee shops were ordered to cease interior service immediately, cannot serve food or beverages, other than take-out orders, deliveries or drive-thru.

We urge people to understand that this is a public health crisis.

Violations are of criminal nature under LA 29.724, “Violation of an Executive Order”.

We encourage all persons to comply with all standing government orders. Please remain calm and diligent through these difficult times.

If our country complies, we will get through this quicker and with less casualties.

Additionally, April 13, 2020 deadline may well be extended and current conditions could remain in place for extended periods, depending on the progress of the situation.

Your Sheriff’s Office, Emergency Services, Corrections and Communications are fully operable. If you need assistance, please call us at (985) 369-2912 or in the event of an emergency, call 911.
