FUGITIVE – FELONY GUN LAW VIOLATION
DAVID WILLIAM CLAVIER, JR. and DANIEL MICHAEL MARSE
AMELIA – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of David William Clavier, Jr., 42, of 6316 Mary Street, Gibson, LA and Daniel Michael Marse, 34, of 121 Klondyke Road, Bourg, LA, on felony charges arising from a Friday traffic stop near Amelia.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, Daniel Michael Marse and conducted an officer / violator interview. At this time, the deputy noted a large caliber handgun between the seats. The deputy collected the handgun in the interest of officer / violator safety.
The deputy conducted a computer inquiry on the driver as well as the lone passenger, now identified as David William Clavier.
The Communications Division confirmed the existence of a felony warrant for Daniel Michael Marse was wanted by the New Orleans Police Department on a fugitive warrant for aggravated domestic battery. It was also confirmed that David William Clavier was a convicted felon. Clavier was convicted of domestic abuse battery in Terrebonne Parish and was the subject of a probation violation.
Both David William Clavier and Daniel Michael Marse were arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges as follows:
-David William Clavier
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
-Daniel Michael Marse
*Fugitive – City of New Orleans – Aggravated Domestic Abuse Battery
Daniel Michael Marse was transferred to the New Orleans Police Department.
David William Clavier was arrested and released on bond.
