FALSE IMPRISONMENT / POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A
CONVICTED FELON – DANTE DEON BATISTE
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Dante Deon Batiste, 26, of 303 Pelican Street, Labadieville, LA, on charges resulting from a Tuesday night incident.
Deputies were dispatched to a location in Labadieville to conduct a welfare concern. Upon arrival, deputies did make contact with the complainant who indicated that an incident had occurred and further advised that she was concerned about the safety of another individual.
Deputies did make contact with Dante Deon Batiste and deputies determined that there was probable cause to believe that he had stolen a large caliber handgun from the third party.
At some point, deputies interviewed the subject of the welfare concern.
Based on the investigation by deputies, Dante Deon Batiste was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Theft
*False Imprisonment
*Resisting Arrest
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Batiste was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
