FAILURE TO APPEAR – PROBATION VIOLATION

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Matherne J. Johnson, Jr., 64, of 3441 Highway 1, Napoleonville, LA, on warrants for failure to appear for court in Assumption Parish and a warrant for a probation violation following a traffic stop on Thursday morning.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation near LA 1 and LA 1008 and initiated a stop of that vehicle.
The deputy made contact with the driver and conducted an officer / violator interview. The deputy determined that the driver, Matherne J. Johnson, Jr., was driving with a suspended drivers license.
The Communications Division advised the deputy that Matherne J. Johnson, Jr. was wanted on a probation violation. That warrant was issued on March 31st, after Johnson failed to comply with probation conditions as a result of a felony conviction for possession of cocaine in Assumption Parish.
Matherne J. Johnson, Jr. was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Failure to Appear for Case Review – Assumption Parish
*Probation / Parole Violation – State of Louisiana – Failure to Comply with Probation Conditions
Matherne J. Johnson, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
