FAILURE TO APPEAR – FELONY DRUG CHARGE
ROBERT SMITH – I.C.E. ARREST
PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Robert Smith, 55, of 114 Felton Lane, Plattenville, LA, on a warrant charging him with Failure to Appear in Court in Assumption Parish on felony drug charges.
Robert Smith was previously arrested in Assumption Parish on felony drug charges and as a result of that arrest, was ordered to appear in court for motions and failed to do so resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
On Thursday afternoon, a uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail stopped a vehicle being driven by Robert Smith for multiple violations.
During the stop, it was determined that the driver, Robert Smith was wanted in Assumption Parish on a failure to appear warrant as well as a fugitive warrant from St. John the Baptist Parish.
Robert Smith was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Warrant – Failure to Appear in Court in Assumption Parish on a Count of:
-Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance
*Fugitive Warrant – St. John The Baptist Parish on Charges of:
-Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense
-Failure to Yield
-Operating a Vehicle Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Illegal Window Tint
*Proper Equipment Required on Vehicles
Robert Smith remains incarcerated pending bond proceedings.
