DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE
VINCENT ALLEN WHITSON and TRAVIS BOUTAIN
BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Vincent Allen Whitson, 42, of 110 Peterville Lane, Belle Rose, LA and Travis Boutain, 40, of 6035 Highway 308, Paincourtville, LA, on felony charges after deputies and narcotics agents concluded an investigation on Wednesday near Belle Rose.
Deputies responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle without a license plate in a neighborhood near Belle Rose. Deputies located the vehicle in question and observed a handmade illegal temporary plate on the vehicle. While examining the vehicle, Vincent Allen Whitson exited a residence and approached the deputies. Investigating deputies immediately determined that Whitson was being deceptive.
At some point, Travis Boutain exited the residence and spoke to deputies. Narcotics agents and deputies suspected some illegal drug activity and when they attempted to question Boutain, he retreated back into the home, locking himself inside.
At some point, deputies made entry and then conducted a search. During the search, a quantity of meth-amphetamine was seized and was attributed to Vincent Allen Whitson. Both Whitson and Boutain were arrested.
Vincent Allen Whitson was arrested on charges of:
*Possession of Meth-Amphetamine
Travis Boutain was charged with:
*Obstruction of Justice
*Resisting an Officer (2 Counts)
Both Vincent Allen Whitson and Travis Boutain were incarcerated pending bond proceedings.
