DRUG – GUN LAW VIOLATIONS – UNLAWFUL USE OF A FIREARM – TYQAVIS KNOCKUM
BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Tyqavis Knockum, 20, of 3374 Highway 1, Labadieville, LA, in connection to a complaint of shots fired in the area of 3374 Highway 1.
Deputies responded to the call and made contact with the complainant who advised that someone had fired several shots from what appeared to be a large caliber firearm.
Deputies proceeded to the aforementioned address and made contact with several individuals. Upon entering the residence, contact was made with the suspect who advised that he knew nothing of anyone shooting a rifle.
Deputies located spent casings from a rifle in the rear yard.
At some point, deputies requested consent to search the residence which was granted.
During the search process, deputies located and seized a large caliber rifle which was loaded. Deputies also located a quantity of synthetic marijuana which was also seized.
At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies arrested Tyqavis Knockum and booked him into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Illegal use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids
Tyqavis Knockum remains incarcerated with bond set at $100,000.
