DOMESTIC MATTER – RESISTING ARREST – FELONY

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Anthony Dawaun Owens, 35, of 420 Martin Luther King Ave, Napoleonville, LA, on charges related to a domestic relationship.

On Saturday afternoon, deputies responded to the aforementioned address to assist an individual with retrieving personal belongings from the residence of an estranged domestic partner.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Anthony Dawaun Owens and advised him of the purpose for their presence.

While deputies were present, the accused made an aggressive maneuver towards the complainant requiring deputies to intervened. Owens forcefully resisted both verbal and physical demands by deputies and had to be subdued and arrested.

Anthony Dawaun Owens was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Simple Assault
*Resisting Arrest with Force or Violence (2 Counts)

Owens remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
