DOMESTIC MATTER – AGGRAVATED FLIGHT

BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Anthony Benjamin Reyes, 29, of 627 W. Jeansonne Street, Gonzales, La., on felony flight charges resulting from a September 22, 2020 disturbance complaint.

On the aforementioned date, deputies were called to a location near Belle Rose relative to a domestic complaint. Deputies made contact with the complainant who indicated that Anthony Benjamin Reyes and another family member had been involved in a confrontation earlier. At the time, Reyes had departed the scene.

At some point, Reyes returned and took an automobile owned by someone else. Deputies spotted the vehicle and as they attempted to stop the violator, Reyes fled into the Donaldsonville area of Ascension Parish.

Anthony Benjamin Reyes was arrested and was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on outstanding warrants in that jurisdiction.

On Friday, Reyes was transported and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Speeding
*Improper Passing
*Flight from an Officer
*Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle

Anthony Benjamin Reyes was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
