DISTURBANCE – DOMESTIC – GERMAIN PAYTON
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Germain Payton, 46, of 1825 Bienville Street, New Orleans, LA, arising from an incident at a residence in the 100 block of Ausbrooks Street in Paincourtville on December 12, 2023.
Deputies responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on Ausbrooks Street and made contact with the complainant who advised that on the date in question she and her domestic partner now identified as Germain Payton engaged in a verbal altercation. At some point, Germain Payton became physical and began choking her. She was able to get away from Payton by going outside. A short time later, the complainant / victim re-entered the home at which time Germain Payton became physical with her again. At some point, Germain Payton shattered the victim’s cell phone then took her car.
At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies secured arrest warrants for Germain Payton.
On May 1, 2024, Germain Payton was arrested by the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Germain Payton was released to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on May 8, 2024.
Germain Payton was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle
*Simple Criminal Damage to Property
*Battery of a Dating Partner
Germain Payton remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
