DISTURBANCE / AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A FIREARM – THOMAS LAWRENCE, JR
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Thomas Lawrence, Jr., 79, of 109 Alvin Street, Napoleonville, LA on felony crimes of violence arising from an ongoing feud in the 100 block of Grant Loop Road in Paincourtville, LA.
On Sunday Evening, deputies responded to a disturbance complaint involving firearms at the aforementioned location.
Upon arrival, deputies observed an individual in the yard with a shotgun in hand. Deputies disarmed the individual, now identified as Thomas Lawrence, Jr. Deputies then made contact with the complainant who advised that he and the accused, Thomas Lawrence, Jr. had been involved in an ongoing dispute / argument over the period of several days.
On Sunday, Thomas Lawrence, Jr., allegedly fired a shotgun at the complainant. The shot contacted a shed causing damages, but the complainant / victim was not injured.
At the completion of the investigation, deputies concluded that probable cause existed to effect an arrest of Thomas Lawerence, Jr. The suspect was arrested and booked into Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property
*Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
*Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities
Thomas Lawrence, Jr. remains incarcerated with bond set at $70,000.
