CRUELTY TO A JUVENILE WITH FORCE OR VIOLENCE

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Albion Dawson, 29, of 3528 Aletha Drive, Baton Rouge, LA, on felony charges arising from a domestic incident on Tuesday morning at a residence on Cody Lane near Labadieville.

Deputies were approached by a female who advised that her common law partner and she resided together. On Tuesday morning, her domestic partner, now identified as Albion Dawson, had an argument with a relative over the telephone. When the call terminated, Albion Dawson was still angry from the conversation he had just completed with the relative.

At some point, Dawson directed his anger towards the female acquaintance and hit her. The minor child of the female attempted to intervene on his mother’s behalf. Albion Dawson allegedly pushed the 7-year-old child against a wall and began kicking him. The child received minor injuries and was treated by Acadian Ambulance personnel at the location. The mother made contact with deputies.

Deputies and detectives were able to locate Albion Dawson at the Cody Lane address at which time he was arrested.

Albion Dawson was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment
*Cruelty to Juveniles with Force or Violence

Albion Dawson remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
