CHILD SEX CRIMES, WARRANT – FAILURE TO APPEAR

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Marquis Williams, 21, of 118 Marshall Lane, Napoleonville, LA, on felony child related sex crimes charges as well as a warrant charging him with Failure to Appear in Court in Assumption Parish on misdemeanor battery charges.
On November 24, 2024, Assumption Parish Sheriff’s detectives received a complaint from the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services regarding a juvenile who may be a victim of a child sex crime.
Detectives initiated an investigation and were able to identify Marquis Williams as one of two suspects who engaged in sexual activity with the child in question on at least two (2) occasions.
At the conclusion of that investigation, detectives secured arrest warrants for Marquis Williams.
On December 21, 2024, Marquis Williams was arrested by the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office on local charges in that jurisdiction.
On December 27, 2024, Marquis Williams was released to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges as follows:
*Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile – (2 Counts)
*Failure to Appear in Court in Assumption Parish on February 21, 2024, on a Count of
Simple Battery
Marquis Williams remains incarcerated with bond set for the carnal knowledge charges at $100,000.
Bond on the failure to appear charge is set at $339.00 cash.
