AGGRAVATED BATTERY WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON

PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Gary Mickeal Cox, 25, of 112 Creole Street, Belle Rose, LA, on felony charges related to an incident of violence.
On January 13, 2020, deputies responded to the 5400 block of LA 308 near Napoleonville in reference to a disturbance.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with one victim who indicated he had intentionally been struck by a vehicle. The victim had minor injuries.
The victim identified Gary Mickeal Cox as one of the suspects and identified a second suspect as the driver. The deputy obtained supporting statements from on scene witnesses.
After evaluating all of the evidence, deputies concluded that both suspects were at the location after having been warned not to return.
While attempting to leave, Cox opened the front passenger door striking the victim.
As a result, deputies filed charges against both the driver and Cox.
On Tuesday, Cox was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
*Simple Criminal Damage to Property
*Entering or Remaining after Being Forbidden
Cox remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
Warrants have been issued for Katlynn Marie Landry, 24, of 6716 Highway 1, Belle Rose, LA. Anyone having information on Landry’s whereabouts should contact the Sheriff’s Office at (985) 369-7281.
