AGGRAVATED ASSAULT UPON A PEACE OFFICER – FOOT PURSUIT – DARION JAHAVIER WALKER

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Dorian Jahavier Walker, 18, of 284 King George Dr., Thibodaux, LA, on felony charges arising from an incident late Saturday afternoon near Paincourtville.

Deputies on assignment at a private sanctioned event were advised of two subjects at the event entrance who were allegedly armed with guns. As deputies approached both suspects began running. Deputies pursued the subjects. Deputies observed a handgun being possessed by one of the suspects. That suspect was eventually identified as Darion Jahavier Walker. During a search of the area, deputies recovered a large caliber handgun with an extended magazine in the wooded area.

Darion Jahavier Walker was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Resisting an Officer (3 Counts)
*Aggravated Assault Upon a Peace Officer
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons

Darion Jahavier Walker remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
