TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Kenneth Joseph Broussard, 40, of 17588 Joe Sevario Road, Prairieville, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop on Shell Beach Road in Pierre Part on Saturday.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Kenneth Joseph Broussard.

Due to the driver’s actions during the ensuing deputy / driver interview, the deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle.

During the search, deputies seized assorted drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine.

There was a minor present with Kenneth Joseph Broussard at the time of the stop.

Kenneth Joseph Broussard was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances in the Presence of Person’s Under the
Age of 17
*No Seat Belt

Kenneth Joseph Broussard remains incarcerated with bond set at $50,000.
