AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A FIREARM

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Marlon Jamal Lewis, 26, of 33166 Bowie Street, White Castle, LA, on felony aggravated assault charges arising from an incident on May 17, 2024, at a residence on LA 1 near Jefferson Street in Napoleonville.
On the aforementioned date, deputies responded to a complaint involving an assault with a firearm. Deputies made contact with the complainant who advised that Marlon Jamal Lewis was at one time in a relationship with his daughter. Marlon Jamal Lewis went to the residence in question and at some point, became involved in a verbal altercation. Marlon Jamal Lewis made threats towards specific individuals and displayed a large caliber handgun in furtherance of the threats. The suspect at some point left the residence. Deputies then secured arrest warrants for Marlon Jamal Lewis.
Early Saturday morning, a vehicle being driven by Marlon Jamal Lewis was stopped for a traffic violation. At that time, Marlon Jamal Lewis was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
*Simple Battery
Marlon Jamal Lewis remains incarcerated with bond set at $25,000.
Deputies did recover a large caliber firearm at the time Lewis was arrested.
