DOMESTIC INCIDENT – JAYSON MICHAEL WHITFIELD

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jayson Michael Whitfield, 37, of 101 Mark Street, Garland, Arkansas, on felony charges arising from a domestic incident at a residence in the 100 block of North Bay Road in Pierre Part.

Deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to a domestic incident. Deputies made contact with the complainant who advised that her estranged husband and herself had gotten into an argument and at some point, the confrontation became physical. The suspect, now identified as Jayson Michael Whitfield, had forcefully grabbed her face. Deputies did observe noticeable physical injuries to the complainant’s face. At the time deputies responded, Whitfield had left the area. Whitfield was later located near Amelia, LA.

Deputies interviewed Jayson Michael Whitfield and based on the investigation related to the domestic incident, Jayson Michael Whitfield was arrested. In an attempt to secure any related evidence, deputies requested and were granted consent to search Whitfield’s vehicle. During that search, deputies recovered and seized a quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Jayson Michael Whitfield was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Domestic Abuse Battery

Jayson Michael Whitfield remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
