THEFT OF AN AUTOMOBILE – MEGHANN REBEKAH SCARBROUGH
BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Meghann Rebekah Scarbrough, 35, of 1098 Highway 662, Bayou L’Ourse, LA, on felony charges arising from an auto theft complaint at Moffett Court on Saturday afternoon.
Deputies were dispatched to the Moffett Court address in reference to an individual attempting to steal a vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the complainant and noted an individual identified as Meghan Rebekah Scarbrough sitting on the ground.
The complainant advised that the suspect, Scarbrough, had gone to the residence asking to charge a cell phone. The suspect was permitted to charge her cell phone. However, at some point, Meghann Rebekah Scarbrough jumped into a 2020 Jeep Wrangler and attempted to drive off. The complainant struggled with Scarbrough and was able to remove her from the vehicle.
The responding deputy arrested Scarbrough. While enroute to the jail, Meghann Rebekah Scarbrough damaged Sheriff’s Office equipment.
Meghann Rebekah Scarbrough was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Theft of a Motor Vehicle
*Criminal Trespass
*Criminal Damage to Property (Public)
Meghann Rebekah Scarbrough remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
