TRAFFIC STOP / DRUG / GUN LAW VIOLATIONS
KENNETH WAYNE BOUDREAUX, JR.
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Kenneth Wayne Boudreaux, Jr., 36, of 3182 Highway 316, Gray, LA, on felony charges arising out of a Friday night traffic stop near Napoleonville.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle with an equipment violation in the area of LA 1 and LA 1008. The deputy initiated a stop of the vehicle and made contact with the driver, now identified as Kenneth Wayne Boudreaux, Jr. The deputy noted that at some point prior to making contact with Boudreaux, he observed the suspect placing an item on the roof of the vehicle which was determined later to be a handgun. The deputy also noted an odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle.
As a result of observations made at the time of the stop, the deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle. As a result of that process, a quantity of suspected marijuana was seized.
Deputies determined that Kenneth Wayne Boudreaux, Jr., was previously convicted of Third Offense – Driving While Intoxicated, a felony in Louisiana. Therefore, Boudreaux could not legally possess firearms.
Kenneth Wayne Boudreaux, Jr. was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Possession of Marijuana
*Tail Lamps Required
Kenneth Wayne Boudreaux, Jr. remains incarcerated with bond set at $25,000.
