TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
SCHUYLER PAUL SANCHEZ, COREY JOSEPH GUYON
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Schuyler Paul Sanchez, 35, of 249 Virginia Street, Belle Rose, LA and Corey Joseph Guyon, 39, of 277 South Bay Road, Pierre Part, LA, on felony drug charges arising out of a Saturday evening traffic stop near Napoleonville, LA.
A uniformed K-9 patrol officer on assignment observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Schuyler Paul Sanchez. The driver did not possess a valid driver’s license and could not produce a vehicle registration or proof of insurance. The deputy noticed the driver to be nervous and sweating profusely.
At some point, it was determined that Schuyler Paul Sanchez was wanted on an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault with a firearm.
The deputy also made contact with the passenger, now identified as Corey Joseph Guyon and conducted a personal interview of him.
The K-9 then conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics.
A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded quantities of marijuana and meth-amphetamine.
Schuler Paul Sanchez and Corey Joseph Guyon were arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Facility as follows:
-Schuyler Paul Sanchez was booked on counts of:
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Meth-Amphetamine
*License Plate Light Required
*No Driver’s License
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Fugitive Warrant – Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
Sanchez’s bond is set at $15,000.
-Corey Guyon was booked on charges of:
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Meth-Amphetamine
Guyon’s bond is set at $15,000.
