TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Rickey David Lovell, Jr.,37, of 1031 Hwy. 1, Thibodaux, LA, on traffic, drug and gun law violations follow a traffic stop by an I.C.E. unit on Sunday evening.
The deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation near the LA 1 and LA 1011 bridge and initiated a stop near LA 400.
The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Rickey David Lovell, Jr. The suspect was noted to be acting rather nervously and was evasive. The driver did turn over a large caliber handgun to the I.C.E. deputy and then consented to a search. During that process, a quantity of cocaine and meth-amphetamine was seized.
Rickey David Lovell, Jr. was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Meth-Amphetamine with Intent to Distribute
*Illegal Carrying of Weapon in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*No Seat Belt
Rickey David Lovell was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
