DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Chris M. Johnson, Jr., 26, of 139 Highway 400, Napoleonville, LA, on drug law violations following a Saturday morning traffic stop south of Napoleonville.
A deputy on assignment observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation near LA 1 and LA 400. The officer initiated a stop of the vehicle and proceeded to interview the occupants.
The driver, Chris M. Johnson, Jr., was interviewed at which time it was determined that his driver’s license was suspended. Deputies noticed a strong odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Johnson consented to a search of his vehicle. As a result of that search, deputies seized assorted paraphernalia and a quantity of marijuana. Johnson was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Johnson was also cited for:
*Improper Turning – Required Signals
*Driving Under a Suspended License
The passenger, Dillius Donta Wise, 25, of 275 A Highway 400, Napoleonville, LA, was determined to have outstanding warrants as a fugitive from the Thibodaux Police Department.
Wise was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center as a fugitive from Lafourche Parish. Wise was released to the custody of Lafourche Parish.
